Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
One of the most recognizable stadiums being used at the World Cup, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a perfect venue for international soccer matches.
Home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United since its opening in 2017, the stadium has remarkable modern facilities, including a retractable roof.
It’s also hosted major American football events, including the College Football Playoff national championship games in 2018 and 2025 and Super Bowl LIII in 2019, and it will host eight World Cup matches this summer, including a semifinal.
Its capacity for soccer is 42,500, although it is expandable to 71,000 and 73,019 with standing room.
The city has become a soccer hotbed with regular, strong attendances for MLS matches and is a former host of the summer Olympics.
